The University of Oklahoma in the United States of America (U.S.A) has signed a memorandum of understanding (M. O .U) with Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor W.O Ellis, welcomed the guests and expressed how proud he was with KNUST. He stated that, the collaboration will help both institutions to explore more avenues of linkages. KNUST being one of the greatest universities is ready to expand frontiers to network with Oklahoma University and have more experience, he added.
He hoped to see that both universities would work hand in hand to achieve the expected output.
In a response, Lorreta Bass who holds PhD in Mass Communication from Gayherd College from Journalism emphasized that, they are conducting research in Africa and they had already visited Senegal, However they find KNUST to be the best place. "Once they have established relations with the university, both institutions will initiate research and other programmes" she said.
They were also impressed about the beautiful environment of KNUST and commended the governing body.
Meta Carstarphin PhD holder, Gayherd College of Journalism and Mass communication and Loretta E. Bass, PhD, department of sociology were present.
On the side of KNUST those present were Professor Obiri Danso, Dean of International Programmes Office(I.P.O), Professor Peter Donkor, Acting Pro -Vice Chancellor and Mrs. Venessa D. Appiah, Assistant Registrar (IPO)
